At Capellini Salon, beauty is more than a service—it’s a story. And like all the best stories, ours is full of heart!
Amy Dawson, proud owner of Capellini Salon, began her journey over 40 years ago. Originally pursuing social work, she was drawn instead to the creative world of cosmetology, guided by the influence of her mother, a gifted woman of many talents.
Amy embraced this craft as part of her legacy, and what began as a passion soon grew into a lifelong calling. From those early days to now, Amy has poured her heart into every aspect of salon life.

Owning Capellini in Okemos, Michigan, has been a dream realized—a place where creativity meets connection. Amy often jokes that she has earned a PhD in her profession: from the thousands of moments she’s shared with guests and the lessons she’s learned along the way.
